No idea how many of those connectors there are, but I wonder if I could epoxy or glue them if it fixes the dimming, so that they won't shimmy loose again.
I thought it might've been the connection at the trunk of the tree at each segment so I bent the connectors to flare them a bit more to create better contact but that did nothing.

I found that one of the 3 wires going into a bulb at the bottom of the tree was loose and caused the lights to dim/flicker. I fixed the connection and it seemed to have made a TINY bit of a difference, increasing the brightness to a handful (if that) of bulbs. There's no way I'm going to check the wiring for all 750+ bulbs. I think the lighting might be a lost cause.
