Did the RAM decontenting already start? Prior 5090's Legion Pro's all seemed to have 64gb of RAM. FYI the ram on this is basically unobtainable CSODIMM DDR5-6400 RAM that's only made by Crucial (Who's leaving the consumer market). I'm trying to upgrade my 5080 model and can't seem to find it anywhere in stock. BHPhoto has it listed for a whopping $627 for the 64gb kit, which of course is out of stock.

I remember microcenter had this model on special sale for twenty four hundred at the start of this year for a new store opening. Tried to get my local store to match it and they wouldnt. Shows the obscene profit margin they are gouging us with. Truth be told this laptop is only really worth about two grand retail during a normal market phase.

Maybe on closeout when the next gen is out. Usually top of the line XX90 class laptops don't sell for just $2000 while being current.

You are right but that inflated retail price is to milk corporations and early adopters. Inflation and market manipulation has trained us to accept these outrageous prices. ( see current ram prices for examples )

32GB on a nearly $3K laptop? Oh man. We're screwed until the bubble bursts around 2028.

RAM up by hundreds of percent (lenovo needs to buy it, so they need to charge more).

Storage is also up, not as much but it is. and its going to get worse.

GPU VRAM also rising, so that will cost more.

I work with many companies (im a reviewer), ive been told that their cost to release products on average is up 20-100% depending on the brand... and getting worse.

They cant just eat the cost, so they raise prices

Thanks for this post. I had to run and check my Legion Pro Gen 9. Thankfully, it takes SODIMM DDR5-5600 which is made by a few different companies. I'll just need to ride things out until some modicum of sanity returns to the market.

EDIT: I see Kingston and ADATA make CSODIMM DDR-5 6400, but those are sold out everywhere as well.

No 5090 240hz oled, 2tb, 32 gig high end intel laptop is regularly 2k. Your lucky to catch a 5080 deal at 2k
