"Clearing out inventory" of digital goods seems oxymoronic.

If they stop "selling" their digital goods, does that mean they will be like amazon and take back your purchase and say you didn't really own it?

No, because these are just codes for Movies Anywhere.

They are clearing out the codes on hand, not the product itself.

This is probably happening because Comcast, which owns Gruv, is spinning off certain parts of their company into a separate company. I believe Fandango is part of that spin off.

That excel spreadsheet must take up a lot of space

This may be completely wrong but I'd guess the distributor isn't working on consignment. Gruv probably had to buy X amount of each title in advance like they would with physical copies.

I though the same, they don't get an unlimited amount.

If you like M3GAN or M3GAN 2.0, they have them for $7.99/ea (UHD) or both bundled for $14.99 before coupon. I picked up the bundle and it came to $10.50 after coupon.

It's likely that NBC universal has just decided to focus on their digital offerings/codes on Fanflix. They had also closed up their nbcuniversal movies website in favor of Fanflix, so this makes sense.
