No, it should be less. The tablet is already 3 months of data, so don't need to pay more for it. The phones can switch to $35 / mo plan for 2nd month, so just $70 more. So total $190 unlocked after 2 months.

Similarly,
some people might have this in their Amex Offers:
Straight Talk - Smartphones, Prepaid Plans & More
Spend $45 or more, earn $20

1 phone + 1 tab is $90 (+ tax)
2 phones + 1 tab is $120 (+ tax)

Tab comes with 3 month service and it is already unlocked
For the phones, We need another 1 month service. We can use $35 bronze plan to unlock it

Amex $20 back /Chase 15% has offers

(Very few people has success with buying Walmart $25 Straight Talk top up card & there are some, who rebranded the phone to Tracfone and then bought 90 days plan for $20 and unlocked the phone)

Tab promotion is limited to one per account

I put my order through PayPal since there is a 5% kicker on those orders via Chase Freedom. I got an order confirmation from paypal but nothing from Straight Talk. I have an account created under my hotmail e-mail address but I guess no order is forthcoming.

Do I have to use a different name and e-mail to get the deal now? With the account in place I figure I'm no longer a "new" Straight Talk customer.

Please advise - thanks!

Dan

NVM - the second time I put in my email for order tracking the site responded with evidence of the order - "pending remote fulfillment" whatever that means...

So I did this, got one phone one line w/45 plan new account. The easiest way to unlock it is prepay a 2nd month with the 30 plan then right? This will for sure take me to 60 days service? And then will automatically be remote unlocked, correct?

I want to pay the 2nd month right now then give the phone away, basically. but need to be sure this works.

btw the phone has a nice display, its a good deal, but the CPU is mid range thats why it's not super smooth. not a crazy deal, just ok.

Also the amount of bloatware these discount carriers and phones cram is stupid. seems to be worsening.

If you wish to start the 60 day clock for an unlock on a device you will have to activate one of your plans on the chosen device. To "save" a plan for future use you will end up with different service renewal dates for any/all activated plans and devices. You will have an easier time handling the management of the situation if you simply activate all plans and phones on the same date so they renew together 30 days in the future. That will help calculate your multi-line discounts correctly.I'm liking the idea of saving the 90 day tablet plan for future use, provided it can be used in other devices and the tablet comes to me already unlocked. Thanks everyone for contributing to the thread.Dan
Thanks for sharing info.

I just bought 1 phone and 1 tablet.

How to check the tablet is unlocked?

For the phone, if there is a gap in 60 days, 2 months plans, will it work?

I won't know how to check the tablet status until I receive it. Since it is a cellular device the status should be viewable in Android settings.

A break in service might cause the automatic remote unlock to fail - so you'd have to open a support ticket once the 60 days are up. There have been a lot of reports along the lines of YMMV since all the Verizon budget carriers tightened their standards to make sure service is purchased for a second month prior to any 60 day unlock. This is VZ violating an agreement they made years ago with the FCC - a lot of folks in the cell phone space are unhappy about it but our complaints to the FCC have not changed anything.

You don't need to open a different account.

No, you just add another Moto Stylus 2025 phone in cart and pay just $30. I have ordered another Stylus and 2 Samsung A16 phones for $55 with auto pay after activated the first order of Moto Stylus. Even first order is in shipping. You can activate the line without the sim like Metro by T-mobile.
The limit is 2 per model of phone and they said they had already ordered 2 - it will require another account to order more of this model.

ok this is what i was worried about, when i look at my account, looking to prepay the 30 2nd month in advance, it seems to have change your plan and keep current plan as the only options. i am worried if i choose change plan, it will prorate me down to 30 plan the rest of this month and therefore i could be charged the 199 for the phone since i'm no longer keeping silver plan conditions. anybody know what to do? it could even do this day 30, so i'm thinking only way to be safe is just leave 45 plan on autopay?

also ppl referred 30 plan i only see 35 cheapest

$45 plan is just a requirement for the original purchase. $35 plan for 2nd month is cheapest (lower price is likely for multiple lines and/or autopay).
Yes you can add plan on last day - and they've never gone back & charged full price after the purchase. There's plenty of information about how ST works on their website and in all the Straight Talk deals on SD. They have deals like this all the time.

So I am safe to right now go on there and choose change my plan to 35 plan even with ~27 days left in first billing cycle?

Received the 2 phones and tablet this evening and activated the phones. How much more resale value is there in getting these unlocked?

Can I ask you a dumb question?

Is it possible to transfer my Google Fi number to straight talk when activation?
And after 2 months, I transfer back to Google Fi.

Is it possible and worthy?

Is the Samsung A16 crappy compared to the Moto Stylus?
Curious as I only seen deal threads for the moto and like none for the A16

at a quick glance, both oled, a16 weaker cpu and the straight talk version has 4gb ram. so, not even close to the stylus (8gb ram, better chip)

the 8gb ram vs 4gb thing is decisive. as 4gb is just not acceptable in 2025.

plus the a16 has very dated looking bezels and camera cutout.

The Moto will end at Android 16. Samsung will update to 19 at least.
That said, I have an A16 and it's slow at everyday operations like opening the Settings. Debloating helps but not enough.
