Make sure to read the reviews, no drawstring around the waist.

Is it worth it at this point compared to some other jackets from different brands ? I am not sure why it's $300, is it just because it's Patagonia ?

It is slightly large. My wife is a medium in most Patagonia jacket but can usually squeeze into a small. A medium was a perfect fit for her when she was still 4 months pregnant...ai returned it and got a size small for her. I am a fairly muscular, lean mens medium and there is plenty of room, borderline too much. I could probably squeeze into a small if I never wanted to layer. I would get a medium, but it is a little big for a medium.

I own this in Medium (black color) and have been very happy with it so far. It's runs slightly large around the torso but sleeves are perfect. It's actually way more true-to-size compared to many other coats I've owned. It's also very warm. Overall, I think it's a solid deal for $300

Fill power of 700 is OK, but for $600 regular price, it seems like it should be higher.

It runs large because it's a top layer. You're supposed to be wearing other clothes underneath it.

Parkas are supposed to be slightly large so you can layer. If you want to wear just an underlayer with a parka, you want to size down. If you want to add a mid layer, you need to go with your regular size.

Yes. If I'm paying $300, I want to show I'm wearing a Patagonia.

I remember the main character from the TV show Maude wore one of these jackets.

I own the black parka and it has a black logo on one of the sleeves. It's not very noticeable unless you're looking closely. That's one of the things I appreciated about this coat. It's incredibly warm and does run slightly larger, but that's typical for parkas, as they're meant to be layered. Additionally, it repels rain very effectively. It's not waterproof, but it does a great job if you're walking to and from your vehicle.

I just purchased this in store for 400. I wonder if I can get the difference back. I'm a member.
