Big difference between the two in my book. Bought many of the Prigressonlast month when they were on sale. This, I'd only donate. If anyone near Rockville Centre, NY wants true chowder, go to Bigalow's. Pricy but amazingly delicious.

If you want more clams do what I do. Add an alert for Snow's chopped clams. Then you can have as many clams in a chowder as you want.

Besides specifically labeled low sodium soup, what canned soup isn't high in sodium? Because I watch my sodium intake, I did some comparative research and you are right, the sodium is high. But it's just on par with all of the other Campbells Chunky soups. I'm not saying it isn't high, it is, but it's not significantly higher than any of the others. I'd think it's safe to say you probably shouldn't eat any type of canned food or soup every single day.

That's a good tip.. I mean, if you expect any 1 to 2 dollar can of mass produced clam chowder to be chock full of clams, you're only setting yourself up for disappointment.

While that's inauthentic, it's certainly healthier than cream. No cholesterol and less saturated fat.

It may have clam stock, but it has virtually no clam or briny taste. To me, it tastes like some nondescript salty thickish soup.
