Dedicated volume controls are a deal-breaker for me, I often have music from a separate app going and being able to Play/Pause or quickly shift the volume is, if I may be so bold, key. That's what's kept me with the G915, the wide volume roller at the top right of the keyboard with a decent guard so you can feel it without bumping the control is great, especially for a home theater setup.

Had to reply just to appreciate the pun.

But the G915 is not TKL.

Can confirm. I've got the g915 TKL. Only downside is it's microUSB. Surely they've updated that by now I hope.

I believe the post-2024 models are now using USB-C for charging, yep!

Yes, the G915X (newer models) have been with USB-C. Though the G915X are about $190. The older G915(only) are significantly less expensive.

I own this keyboard and a G815. The primary reason for getting this keyboard while I still owned the G815 was for a new build and to try the TKL option. I've been pleasantly surprised by how great this keyboard has been. As a result, I gave the G815 to my daughter for her PC shortly after trying the G515.

While I very occasionally miss the numeric keyboard and the dedicated audio controls/wheel, they weren't enough for me to go back to the 815 or to seek another TKL solution. I just prefer the G515's overall solid feel/weight and the keys, as well. In-game performance has also been without complaint.

For such as small footprint it has nice heft to it and feels more solid than the G815 or the original G915. Side by side, I'd take the 515 over the 815/G915 all day long. Those missing features aren't enough to make me go back. I was not expecting that when I bought this for a new build with the notion of trying-it/returning-it if I didn't end up liking it about a year ago.

Why no more clicky options? I feel like clicky or blue switches are less and less popular. I still love them.

I couldn't agree more. Removing volume rocker does not make this newer model better. Even a small one on the side would be better than nothing. My household has 5x G915 and we have no reason to ever upgrade.

Never used the K800 but the G515 is a great keyboard. Great build quality.
