I grew up.hsving a huge number of various ornaments handed down over generations as well as new modern pop culture ornaments. Mine were mostly Star wars. But my kids have Tinkerbell, Scooby Doo, Blues Clues, Donald Duck , etc
Now, as I've gotten older and my health has declined as far as mobility, I'm with you. I'm tired of trying to go up.and down a ladder to bring all of the ornaments up and back down after Christmas. Tired of worrying about them getting broken. Having to remove batteries and repack them in the boxes so they don't get broken. I'm thinking my Holidays would have been so less stressful had I just used generic round balls. If I had to do life over again, I'd keep one ornament from each relative and placed them on a shelf and donated the rest. Going forward, I am literally using a Charlie Brown tree....no ornaments except one.
