I'd rather get something thicker that can handle 15A or at least with a fuse that protects it.

Otherwise if you (or someone in your family!) plugs in something too beefy it can melt

16awg is incapable of doing work for the most of the outside electric devices.

For a heavier duty application, look for something labeled 12/3 - 12 is the AWG of the wire using 3 conductors (hot, neutral, ground). For 100' of cord, I'd definitely recommend 12/3 as you'll run into voltage drops as well using smaller wire. I use 16/3 for some Christmas lighting or lower power draw stuff, but for distance you can't go wrong with a heavier cord. It'll last a long time too.

Yeah I definitely wouldn't load up a 16awg cord this long with anything more than Christmas lights - but for $14, this is a pretty nice deal to run your Christmas lights imo.

Unless you're me when I had the corded trimmer, then it only lasts until the next trimming of the bushes

totally random, but why are extension cords listed as Gauge/Conductors (i.e. 16/3) when electrical wire never includes the ground? Romex 14/2 includes the ground wire as well as Neutral and Hot.

16 is perfectly capable of doing pretty much anything. Power cords can do well over what they're rated for.

The problem comes from continuous use, so if you're going to plug something in that uses anywhere near 1200 watts for a significant amount of time then yeah you want to step up to either a 12 or 10.

but a 10/3 extension cord can cost literally 10 times as much as the one in this post, so if you don't need it then spending that much is ridiculous.

they're also much heavier and take up way more space when stored.

How many Amps could this generally handle? Typical leaf blower for 30 min?

Not dead, but sold out on Amazon except from 3rd party. Walmart still has stock, just snagged one.
