These items have actually gone up in price compared to their typical price. Only barely and the price does spike to double this for a few days at a time sporadically, but check the price history for the past 6 months.
I buy them regularly though, for a protein bar, they're passable. Overall taste is good enough but very chewy as you'd expect. The amount of protein compared to the calories is just fine, you can do better, but there's a lot worse out there too.
Do people eat protein bars out of convenience and it helps them with a treat or snack that is healthier than eating a regular candy bar?
Both (at least for me).
When I'm trying to lose weight, they can provide a sweet tooth fix. And when I'm bulking, they're a convenient to-go snack/meal. And unless you're comparing to chicken breast, they're a pretty affordable source of protein.
I thought this would be the bigger bars... holy hell! I bought a pack of 72 of these on ebay for $40. The expiration date was a few months away from the current date.
Isnt a problem for me, i eat 1x a day and id eat a bar up to 6 months past exp date.
