I don't do no name brands for anything with lithium batteries. It's not worth the safety risk.
I took a chance on them a year ago and got a 25000 mah bank and it's been awesome. I got it for like $20

Bought directly from Costco and while the retractable cable is great, it overheats like crazy. I frequently charge my 2021 MacBook Pro 16 and the battery gets hot and stops charging. Debating on returning it for this reason
You should return it. I've had mine for a couple of weeks. It doesn't over heat. Charging or discharging

I've bought something similar in the past. But since the Apple Silicone chips, haven't really had battery anxiety on my Macbooks.

Own 3 of these and love them, but if you go to TikTok Shop Live you can get it for like $80 bucks and sometimes they include a 240w cable that's valued at $20 bucks.

I haven't had any issues of it getting hot. I just love that I don't need cables.

Retractable one is my go to.
Post a link then. Crazy how many people say it's cheaper on "blah blah" site yet never prove it.

The best part of it is that you can charge it to 100% within 2hrs.

my wife has one of the Anker ones and it's really awesome. I'll see how this one compares.

yet to find one that doesn't overheat
Since this happens with multiple chargers, it's probably not an issue with defective chargers. The overheating is probably from using a high charging rate with a small charger. If possible, slow down the charging, maybe by using one of the lower power ports on the charger. This will increase charging time but should give cooler charging and probably increase the useful life of both the charger and phone's batteries. Unless I'm in a hurry, I always use slower charging to help my batteries have longer lifetime.

Nice! Does it overheat when charging at full speed? Or when doing the "being" charged scenario as you described?
It has a overheat failsafe, if the temp is too high the battery will not charge at all.
Was on a plane and had just finished charging a tablet and phone and was rushing to recharge before landing but it wouldnt until it cooled down.
This is a CCC approved charger (for China flying) so its pricier and if you are annoyed by the heat locks there are plenty of other battery banks.

PSA. Non-retractable strap cable is pretty fragile. It recently failed on my unit and I'm getting it replaced under warranty. A few other cases reported in Amazon reviews.

I bet it's from flexing. It looks like it tends to bend pretty sharply where it enters the device. It's rated to carry a lot of weight, but a USB cable is not going to last a lot of sharp bending because of the tiny wires inside that cable.

The Emerson power bank at Walmart is $33 only, is Anker with $55 more?
When it comes to high capacity power banks, deals are nice but you dont want to buy these off brand lesser known ones
For a few extra bucks saved, it could burn down your house

Anker has had plenty of recalls as well. They sent emails out last year warning one of their banks could catch fire. I know cuz I owned it and had to dispose of it. Just saying brand name isn't perfect either.
