I would feel better being able to get an extended warranty at the same time.

any reason why?
The colors, even without the Dolby Vision, my Samsung S90D has way better colors than my C3, my B5 and any LG I have ever seen. Besides that, most of the streaming contents has HDR10 nowadays. It is not like you will miss the DV. That is my experience.

LG over Samsung always from experience. A lot of Samsung electronics have failed on me to ensure I don't buy these anymore.
My experience is different. I have always had Samsung phones and never had issues. My S90D give me way better experience than my C3 and my B5.

Per Gemini, if most of the content watched is not 4k, LG is better, otherwise go with Samsung.
I agree with this point. LG is better for low quality content. But most of the people nowadays are watching streaming. In this case I would go S90F. Even though my C3 was better than my S90D to be used with Myfamily cinema (R.I.P.)

I ended up getting the LG C5 77" on greentoe when they countered a $1749 bid w/ tax included. Got it in a week. Love it!

Depends on your priorities. According to rting's comparison:

For me, picture quality in dark environments is the most important, so I'd choose the S90F. Though C5 supports Dolby Vision, it can't display HDR colors nearly as well as the S90F.

If you're mainly watching in a brightly lit area, especially in SDR, then C5 is better. They have other differences as well, just depends on your priorities.
I feel like you have it backwards. I was under the impression that the S90F does better in brightly lit, and the C5 better for night time.

I have a feeling that as long as I don't put the C5 and S90F side by side (which I never will), I'd probably be impressed with either one.

Well to be fair, streaming doesn't fall under "high quality" content.
Especially on the audio side.

With high quality content(physical media) ime LG(Sony) processes content more accurately.

Technically dynamic HDR is better and regularly physical media offers DV way more than HDR10+ ime.

From personal experience I would completely agree, you would only notice the subtle differences side by side.

As a matter of fact one of the best things you can do to take the most advantage of all this performance is have your display calibrated.
Just look at the pre & post calibration results on this comparison.

Even if they come out in 2026, they won't be anywhere close to this price for 5-8yrs. The pricing will be 5-10x the first few years.

(LG consumer Oled TVs came out in 2013 and cost over $12k)

So if I'm mostly watching YouTube or basic TV, the C5 is far superior and the one to get ? I am mostly interested in a bright picture and especially accurate color in the face tones.
