Probably gave her a washcloth bath, like she'd seen her littlest sister get. It sparked when she turned it on, her pretty blanket my mother had sewn caught fire, she tried to put it out (she knew she had disobeyed), and her lacy pretty little girl synthetic blouse caught at her wrists, and the fire spread from there. The synthetic lace and cloth bubbled and melted as they heated, and it caused some horribly deep burn damage on the 50% of her body being burned, as well as my mother's hands as there was no time to grab a towel.
My mother was essentially coating her hands in melting, bubbling and burning plastic. I had never heard her yell/scream for my older brother and me like that, and she never did after that. The urgency and pain in that scream is something I have only heard when my wife had to have stitches to stop bleeding when she had delivered our first child, but with no pain killers. That was more of a howl of pain.
A proper tested UL-listed toy should NOT throw a spark that hot. So we really, REALLY should not be permitting anything not tested by a US recognized safety lab into the country. If the country permits exporters to afix fake tags, then ALL their UL type items should be banned. You could cogently argue that I'm biased, but that can be an advantage, as to me it's not just a data set.
