totally different products. like, are you really asking someone to spend their time telling you the difference in two items that literally list all their features because you cant be bothered to spend your time doing the same exact thing? i mean... just look at the photos. the only 2 things they have in common are that they are both a french press, and both made by the same company.

That one is smaller (32 oz) and a little more compact since the handle folds in. Both claim to keep hot for 4 hours.

I ordered this earlier in December for 15.60 plus tax. My hubby received as a Christmas gift and he really liked it because it's sturdy and packable.
That's not the same one. You're thinking of the camping style one. This one is more traditional and heavy duty.

Looks like all steel (?) which is better than some of the Stanleys.

I've been needing a new French press and wanted one that wasn't glass. This will be perfect for home or outside/camping use. Thanks!

Another difference between this and the previous deal is that one (the camping one) can be heated directly on the stove or fire. This one appears to be more conventional, where water is first boiled in a pot or kettle and then added to the press.

This is a good french press, but it is far too easy to get grounds into the coffee if you have the water even near the lipped area. The press just isn't as tight as others. Definitely get a small colander to use with it. I'd say that his th8ng spits out about a half teaspoon of grounds minimum.

Separating the liquid from the grounds is kinda the main point of a french press. I'd love to get a bigger, insulated french press setup but not if it means chewing grounds or adding a step to the process.

I have to say a French press that insulates coffee for that long will also release loads of tannins into the coffee….. so for people sensitive to that, you might want to reconsider the idea of using a French press … just saying.

Any French press releases tannins. If you don't like tannins, choose paper filters.

Coffee contain cofestol and kahweol, which increases your LDL, bad cholesterol. To prevent this you must use paper filters.
