It's insulated, so the mug is designed to not conduct heat. Trying to boil water in this thing will be a bad time.

I love the Admirals mugs. No they don't fit in a cup holder but they do sit on the floor beneath my legs and ride just fine. I take one every day to work which gives me coffee until about noon.

No - it is insulated and it has a non-skid base -I have a very old one and the bottom has a rubbery substance to keep it from skidding
