You don't have to dry clean wool sweater. You can hand wash them in cold water with shampoo or wool sale detergent and lay/hang dry. I wear wool clothes every day. Most of my wool clothes are superwashed but I also have non-superwashed wool clothes.

For wool suits, suit pants and coats, you want to dry clean to prevent the misshape of the clothes while washing, but you can wash wool sweaters at home.
