What is so special about this everyday switch? Doesn't even have POE or 2.5Gb ports. For a simple 8 port switch should be $15 - $16 or about $2 a port or less.

  1. This is a switch, not a hub. There is a difference.
  2. There's multiple reasons why a switch is useful in building a network topology. For example simply using a wireless repeat can cut your throughput in half.
  3. It's obvious you don't work in IT or networking so yes there's very much a reason companies still sell and consumers still purchase E. Switches.
