Because of this deal I started trying ATT in my area and I see that it has better reception than Verizon in the areas I roam. So it might be a good deal for me. Let's see in few days.

Also if you get this plan dont forget to turn off auto renewal or you will be charged 400 bucks

This is a good price for great service, even if not quite as slick as some of their recent deals.
My one quibble with US Mobile is that they don't seem to offer anything to existing customers. I chatted with them and they were willing to let me walk rather than letting me take advantage of the last deal or offering me anything at all to stay. So switching back and forth between them and Mint or Visible or whatever seems like the best longer term option. USM is my favorite, hands down, but if something else that works well for me is considerably cheaper, I have no loyalty for corporations who show no gratitude toward me.

I've definitely had better reception with both the Verizon and T-Mobile networks than AT&T across many states and cities.

Does US mobile refund in the first 30 days if I don't like this plan or service ?
No, but they do offer a free trial so you can check it out first (use a dummy email though so it doesn't cause promo issues). AT&T also offers a free trial

Here are the terms of the promo which says refer to the original terms :

After 30 days, unactivated lines purchased with the HALFOFF offer become non-refundable. All other conditions of the refund policy for multi-month plans outlined at usmobile.com/terms apply.

8. Refund Policy
U.S. Mobile will issue a full refund if you cancel within 30 days of activation. After 30 days, the following refund policy applies:

Annual Plan: refunds will be calculated on a pro-rated basis in accordance with the 365-day plan duration.

Looks like the refund policy you quoted is for their Device Protection, not for the service plans. Here's what the USM terms say for their multi-month plans - it says you can only get a refund within the first 7 days, and you can't use more than 1GB of data:

Quote :
Refund policy for multi-month plans:
• Customers can request a refund for a multi-month plan if all the following conditions are met:
• It has been less than 45 days since the plan was purchased
• For new lines, it has been less than 7 days since a new line was activated; for existing lines, it has been less than 7 days since the multi-month plan billing cycle started for the line
• Less than 1 GB of data has been consumed on the plan
• For lines on an unlimited plan that includes roaming, there has been zero usage of any roaming data, talk, or text
If the above conditions are not all met, the plan is non-refundable.
No refunds will be provided if you choose to change your plan part-way through any multi-month plan.

So there seems to be a refund. I was planning to buy and hold in the hopes that there is a better offer in Jan. Otherwise, I plan to activate and use it. So there won't be any usage on my side.

Do I need to port when buying ?

Verizon is horrible in my area. Att + Tmob are much better

Actually USM everyday price is very good for annual..you can lock prices after renewal by pretend calling to switch for cellphone, wifi, etc for 50% off. Existing customer paying full price is healthy profits . New customer promo lose profits.
Promo rate for 1st year is very common. Use that to your advantage by pretend switching, using google voice routing (voice quality is bad), and get the 2-5 yr price lock with Visible.
Can you elaborate more on this process of "pretend calling" ?

This is isn't the best deal. Recently I activated three lines for $240 each because I added multi network. However, in the middle of December they offered $251 or about that prepaid visa gift card, and monthly charge ended up as $10. So before Christmas deal was better.

I have been with them for a month so far and it is really superior to Visible. Even after the $199 for the first year it goes up to up to $20.75 a month. that ain't bad for great reception and service for customer service people. So at 30 days, I'm very happy. I could not get usable reception in my house until their dark star a t & t. I had metro pcs and visible, both were junk unless on wifi. I used the hotspot a bunch and it was fast and consistent.

There's a difference in offering a low, below cost price to attract a new customer vs offering that price to an existing customer. I assume you understand why this works the way it does. Yes, if it was continuously cheap and better that would be awesome.
but it is! after the year, it only goes up to $249 for the plan I chose, less than 21$ a month, that is good

Same where I live.

AT&T > T-Mobile >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Verizon

We have used H2O Wireless (AT&T network) for years. Very happy with the service they provide. Sadly, they do not offer a cellular watch plan so we will be switching soon.

They mean calling and bluffing that you will change providers to save money if they do not give you a decent renewal deal. The call is real, the threat is the "pretending to leave them if they won't come up with a retention special offer".
This is the same tactic that helps keep your next cycle of cable promotions better than they want to offer you when your current promotion is ending.

I like how they say:

Free Smartwatch Plan*

then you look at the terms and it says not yet supported. Is that even legal?
