Klipsch The Three Plus is a compact Bluetooth speaker system that also works as a turntable ready stereo amp, with phono and RCA inputs built in. The rear inputs make it easy to hook up a record player, and USB is suggested over Bluetooth for better PC audio when the computer is nearby. The main caution is that phone playback can sound unclear in the highs for this setup, and HDMI is not included. It is a flexible all in one option for small stereo systems, especially if phono input matters.

TIL wood veneer is a "luxury" material. 🤷

Marketing.

Check ikea's new pricing on unfinished pine wood. 25% higher price for the privilege of cheap exposed wood furniture. That same crap used to be 25% cheaper than regular stuff 5 years ago because you had to paint yourself.

Yep. Marketing. I was just making a silly comment reflecting on the silly world we live in these days.

I wonder how much more ridiculous things can get before it all implodes.

I wanted one of these before, then I realised it was cheaper and better to just get a little RSL iA255.1 mini amp (with bluetooth, usb, and 3.5mm input) and pair it with some passive speakers I had lying around. Works really well. (amp for reference: https://rslspeakers.com/products/...1251841302 [rslspeakers.com] )
Edit: Amp above is out of stock but there are others I'd recommend like the SMSL SA300 I use for my desktop PC setup.
Any home audio receiver made in the last 100 yrs had bluetooth connection. Nothing new.

Uhh... sure thing, bud. Absurdity of your '100 yrs' claim aside:

Typical AV receivers are bulky & consume a lot more power by comparison. Even idle, most will run 20-40W+, while a typical Class D mini amp will only consume ~0.1-1W idle. If you're leaving your home theater receiver on 24/7, you're probably wasting anywhere from $30-60+ a year to do so.
20-40W+ idle is not what you want for a device that spends most of its life standing by waiting for music to be streamed to it.

I was on the fence between this and the Marshall Stanmore III, which was also $250 about a week ago. I've seen and heard the Stanmore III in person in a suite at a hotel, and liked the sound, but reviews say the Klipsch Three Plus Premium has a more neutral sound and maintains clarity better at high volume. I'll know in a few days when the Klipsch arrives and I can try it.
The Klipsch also has superior connectivity options, including direct connection from a turntable, and HDMI, which the Stanmore III does not. This should make for a nice, portable addition to the living room without a full amp & speaker setup. I do like the styling of the Stanmore III better, though.

I have been buying Klipsch speakers since 1975 and they are made in the USA in Hope Arkansas. Klipsch make state of art speakers that last for decades. I am not sure about bluetooth speakers but I can assure you that speakers with wires like the Heritage line of speakers are high quality and are similar to the JBL L100 Classic MKII speaker that originally sold in the 70s. The company started in 1946. The original owner is audio pioneer Paul W. Klipsch.

This is correct. It was purchased for 196 million dollars. Hopefully it can keep the premium home audio prestige that we have enjoyed since 1946 and I have enjoyed since 1975.

Only the expensive heritage stuff is made in Arkansas since around 2008. This product is made in China. No saying it's bad, but no one should buy this expecting a made in USA speaker.

I only know about the expensive Heritage and Klipschorn speakers that I have been purchasing since 1975. I can promise you that these are one of the best 8 ohms that can handle easily a good high quality amp or receiver producing a minimum of 100 Watts per channel with very low THD. I don't know what you call expensive but they were only $600 to $700 per speaker when I start purchasing them in the 70s. Even the JBL L100 that I purchased for $350 per speaker cost over $2,600 per speaker now.

I don't have a clue about any bluetooth speaker that any company manufactures. That is a completely different category. If Paul Klipsch was still alive, I doubt he would produce a bluetooth speaker. Paul Klipsch died at 98 in 2002.

By the way, Paul Klipsch started making his speakers in 1946 in Hope Arkansas. The original factory is now housing the Klipsch Museum of Audio History. If you would go to the museum, you will note that the speakers were manufactured in Hope since 1946. I am not sure about 2008. Klipsch was purchased by Audiovox in 2011. I have been personally purchasing and istening to Klipsch speakers since 1975. My first pair were purchased from Good Vibes Electronics. Playback Electronics also carried the speakers.
