dont bother...wherever you're from is definitely way better than coming to michigan. dont listen to the new Tim Allen campaign that is coming out soon (according to todays paper)...michigan is the worst place for nearly everything. and the roads are so horrible...everytime i come to michigan from being out of state, you know when you get here because at the Ohio/MI border there's a bump. no need to look at the "welcome to michigan" sign...you know you're here from the bump and many many many potholes.

as a lifelong resident of this state, i have to agree...but in my case, since Flint is pretty much the worst city in the state, i tell myself "at least i dont live on the East side or the North side!" and definitely glad i dont live in the neighboring city of Burton (i did for 7 months at one point)...its kinda ghetto lol

There are lots of great things here and some things that are just crappy like other states.

hehe yes, detroit counts as michigan! but ive always had fun in detroit...tons of concerts mostly. ive never seen a Tigers or Wings game. lol just beware of traffic and stuff. and bring your camera cuz you can see 8 Mile--like the Eminem movie! laugh out loud

Going to gigs in downtown Detroit were always a blast (at least in the early - mid '90s). I remember Kate from Spiritualized walking down Woodward and all of these folks were like, "Who the hell is that?!" St. Andrews, State Theatre, and the Magic Stick were awesome venues. Anyone remember The Latin Quarter?

never heard of the Latin Quarter (but i dont know a whole bunch about detroit...just some things)...i know the State Theatre, saw my friends band play at St. Andrew's...also been to Clutch Cargo's...i've been to Warped Tour at Comerica Park (parking lot). i know theres more i just cant think.

but outside of detroit...like Auburn HIlls and places like that...we'd go to DTE (or i still call it Pine Knob) to see shows and the only mall i like to go to is Great Lakes Crossing...i prefer that over the one in Troy. they have nearly everything at GLC. lol Smilie
