These are solid bells...I like that the handles are a non-slippery, textured surface unlike some of the cheapest bells. $1/lb is about as good as I see KBs go, except for rare occasions such as during the post-COVID surplus fire sales.

This doesn't seem like a good deal compared to the recent 35lb kettle ball deal from Amazon for $22

Well, those are plastic KBs, these are iron and thus much more compact and the handles don't get slippery so fast. For a total beginner on a really tight budget of course the plastic ones are a better deal. For anyone else, the iron ones are well worth the extra $.

The one I was talking about was iron, it wasn't plastic.

Oh, in that case yeah that's a rare bargain then! Knowing Amazon it probably sold out after just a few hours?

Was it this one? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0731FCS7T?th=1

I would not recommend because it has a slippery glossy finish---I bought a few of these and would not recommend for any exercises with explosive movements where grip is key, such as swings and snatches. They'd be ok for stuff like goblet squats, presses and rows though.
