The fuel version is adequate for a casual.

What sucks about it? I have the Fuel version (not the regular one listed here), and it's great for quick little jobs (cutting, sanding, whatever). For anything substantial, I try to have a plug-in multi-tool around. Although I've used the m12 Fuel multi-tool for some big jobs, too, when power wasn't available ... big enough jobs to go through a pile of batteries (and a bunch of cheap blades).

No it doesn't. I own it and find it incredibly useful.

M12 battery is just trash. On the other hand, M18 battery is awesome.

I've had this tool for several years now and pick it up for when it's needed. And as a general DIYer i have not come across a project where i complained yet that this tool sucks. It has cut everything from door jams, to flooring, sheetrock, metal, plastics etc. Most important thing to keep in mind is picking the right multi blade for the job and making sure it's new or sharp to begin with. Yes the small 2.0ah battery will not last for hours so you will need to rotate between charging and using the tool. At the same time if my task requires this ossilator to run for hours that's an issue with me picking up a wrong tool for the job, not a complaint about the tool.
