They have made it more easy now. You log into your account and in the account details the account number and pin can be viewed. I agree previously it was hard, but not anymore

This company intentionally makes it very difficult to port your number out, but it is possible. They are a huge pain to deal with, but the service itself can be a good deal when on sale. Be warned that after the promotional price expires, the regular price is unreasonably high. I recommend using a privacy.com virtual credit card to ensure that they don't keep charging you if they make it a hassle to cancel.

Lyca Mobile was on T-Mobile, but they've been transitioning to the AT&T network after a legal dispute with T-Mobile, a shift that was supposed to happen around late 2024/early 2025, with new activations stopping on T-Mobile's network in September 2025. Per AI

This must be why my service improved. Although my boost service has been better too

How hard is it to cancel the automatic renewal?
Don't know about their US service, but when I traveled to the UK thought I'd give it a go for $19/month and got one of their eSims to use data and calling while abroad. Tried to cancel auto-renewal and removed my CC from the payment details after my trip, but continued to get charged $19 every month for about 6 months afterwards until I finally disputed the charges with my CC company. Definitely setup a Privacy account if you don't have it already and use one of their virtual cards that you can cancel easily like another user suggested if you decide to jump on this. They WILL continue to charge you after you try to cancel. The worst website/app/customer service imaginable to boot!

I had a big trouble when it times to put out the phone number when I call the company they couldn't even give me the accurate information and the call was somewhere out of the United States.

They had a scam system before. When you try to cancel auto renew the website won't take you to the webpage.

Porting is easier as of Dec 2025.
Login to Lyca portal is thru OTP. Once you login - you can access Account and PIN.
Also if you find a better deal (say on Ultra), Lyca Customer Service will try to match same deal.
Having that Lyca seem to have lower priority over Ultra / Mint on T-Mobile network.
Just because you can easily see the account number and PIN, that doesn't mean port out will be easy. Have you done it to see how long it takes?

Ported from Lyca to Ultra last month.
Call to Lyca customer service - about 5 minutes (as we didn't know that we can get this from UI).
Getting Values from Lyca site - about 5 minutes (goes thru two OTP flows).
Putting values on Ultra websit - about 5 minutes.
Ultra website said that it is taking "time", but it retries internally automatically - it was done in about 10 minutes. Total of 20-25 minutes.

So does it work now? What are the lessons, for someone wanting to port in? Fill out the form before scanning the esim and trying to activate?
In case anyone wants to know, if you are porting in and keeping your own number, the directions in the email clearly state NOT to add the eSIM QR code in your phone. The first time I activated a Lyca plan, I screwed up (somehow IDK) and had to call in. This past week, I made sure to be more careful and ported in successfully without having to call in. I do agree about the website; it's horrible. However, I used my laptop instead of a cell web browser for activation.

After a few hours playing telephone between my old carrier (Helium) and Lyca my number is finally ported over.

Lyca support is really worthless, they don't tell you anything if a port request fails - there should be a reason code provided according to my old carrier.

I did fix the problem and learned something; triple check to make sure the "service address", E911 and billing addresses are exactly the same between your new line at Lyca and the old carrier.

Mine had the wrong zip code. Apparently porting numbers between carriers requires an address verification check just like credit cards do... It wasn't until I changed my E911 and billing addresses at my old carrier that a port request by Lyca succeeded - within 30 minutes after resubmitting it with help from Lyca chat support.

On the good news, I have an AT&T 30 day free trial eSIM on my spare iPhone and speed tests between both Lyca and AT&T are almost exactly the same. Lyca may be throttling video to 1080p ("AT&T streamsaver") will see if i can figure out how to disable.
In my area in rural PA, I was getting 5G+ signal FWIW

I ported out the other day using the account number and pin in the app. It only took a few minutes. Didn't have to talk to anyone thank God because none of their numbers were working. Couldn't even get anyone on the chat.
