Bough this one around 8 months ago, came up front page at 450 i think. Its super heavy and well build. I had about 6 45lbs plates installed on it and its going just fine. Im confident you can stack a ehole lot more, i gust dont have the wrights to try it. The safety bars are also great no way to accidently slide over. You have to lift the plate in order to unlock. And thats a must since i got small kids in the house. The crate it came with was gigantic, some of the parts were really havy and a struggle to get down the stairs. Ill strongly recommend getting one at this price.

Into: Leg Press will involve lower systemic fatigue and therefore will be the superior exercise for specifically targeting the muscles in your legs. It is also a much safer move generally than squats.
Out of: The squat is a great compound movement that requires activation of more muscle groups than the leg press. You can also address the safety concerns with squats by using unilateral alternatives like Bulgarian split squats or single leg RDLs.

Price is a no brainer. Getting it past my wife is the issue.

I'm really jealous of those who can. I need a leg press machine but this is definitely outside the budget...

You can get generics a little cheaper on sites like temu but Walmart lately has been getting close to Temu prices for a lot of this gear. I don't think the Temu stuff comes close to this build quality though. At least, I havent seen one on there rated for this amount of weight. The only thing this one is lacking imo is weight storage horns. Not a deal breaker but it's convenient to keep a lot of your heavy weights near the machine.

*Edit* I was wrong, it does have storage horns.

I purchased this a few days ago. Haven't received it yet. Shipping weight from the carrier is 608 pounds. Don't believe the Walmart specs, they are way off on weight. From reading the reviews, you can leave the long weight bar off and really decrease the width of this machine, which is great for small spaces. You can still put a lot of 45 plates on the upper weight bar

So I work out at home and I don't have a huge room. I'm debating for all in one machine which I know will be costly. Can I target a lot of leg muscles with this? I workout with dumbbells only.

It will hit most leg muscles if you use the full range.
Depending on how much space you have you might be better off with a half rack with pulleys and a bar, or a rack with pulleys and smith combo. That said if you feel you are getting a solid upper body workout with dumbbells (which is entirely possible) then this would be a good way to round out the legs.

I'm no expert by any means though, just an enthusiast, so take this fwiw.

Lots of reviews of damaged arrival, but I am giving it a shot! I'll let you know by Jan 9th, if it arrives on time!

TheJungleGym reviews this exact machine and had mostly great things to say about it. Even mentions you can save some width by removing the top plate load bar because you can just load out the back instead and still get heavy.

Linear Bearings, too.

A lot of cheaper ones have wheels like a rollerblade on a sled instead of linear bearings- The Body Solid leg press/hack, for example. Always go with the linear bearings.

The last 3 things I have gotten from Walmart have went down significantly after I got them, the power rack, lat pull down, and push sled cart all signature fitness have all been clearance in the past and went down sharply after the initial clearance. I wonder if we can hope as much for this?

I have an adjustable bench with rack that can support bench press, squats, deadlifts and more of those compound exercises. Doesn't take much space so I have room for cardio machines as well. Back in the day when I use to only focus on one muscle group at a time I would use things like leg press machines but now I rather work legs with other groups while doing squats and deadlifts. I am not a fan of the all in one band/pulley based machines

If the reviews are accurate, and you get this and want to use the storage horns, it sounds like this oddly comes with 1" storage horns. Heres a simple fix:

I just ordered, because I've wanted a leg press for a while. I've always had problems with my lower back, so squats are problematic. I watched the YouTube review Ransu listed earlier and it seems pretty solid.

Here is a good deal on 45 and/or 55 pound bumper plates someone posted here on SD yesterday. You can get a pair of 45's for $45 ($0.50/lb). Buy multiple sets depending on your weight needs. https://slickdeals.net/f/19038370-flexwave-black-olympic-bumper-plate-sets-steel-hub-rubber-plates-in-90lb-110lb-200lb-options-for-strength-training-94-99

Some have complained about the left side safety stop being lower than the right side. This causes the right side to hold all the weight. One of the Walmart reviews referenced the fix below where someone used some washers to level it out.

Just when you think ur all set for the year...

Amazing deal, but if I didn't just get a Squat Max MD, I'd get this. Now this would be a pure "want" item as I really "need" a leg extension/leg curl machine.

Congrats to those who picked one up. Thiccc legs in 2026 loading.
