The 4070 Ti Super (this card) out performs the non-Ti 5070 in every metric, by a fairly sizable margine. If you're spending ~$600 on a card it should either be this one or the 9070 XT. If you care about ray tracing and don't mind an open box product, get the 4070 Ti Super. Otherwise get the 9070 XT.
Right now it's really hard to make an argument for the 5070 due to the price drop on some of 9070 models. The 9070 in most games, even with RT on, beats out the 5070 or loses within 5% for the same price. Without RT on, the non XT 9070 beats out the 5070 by 10-20% almost across the board.
Don't buy any AMD product if you wanna run Black Myth: Wukong with RT on.

Some decent deals on other open box items from them right now. Seems like 4000 and 5000 series offer a 2 yr warranty while the 3000 series is just a 90 day warranty

I think I saw there's 6 or 7 of each.

How is zotacs build quality these days?

I remember reading somewhere, sometime before the pandemic maybe even 10 years ago, there were people reporting issues.

You are 100% correct on the benchmarks, however I recently went with a 5070 ti on sale at $730 due to AMD's stance on planned obsolescence with driver support. I had a 6800 xt and could not believe that AMD just gave up on that card as it was still handling most games just fine at 1440p. I hate Nvidia as much as the next person but AMD will never get another dime from me for video cards. They did the same thing a couple of years ago with my friend's amd card, which was still performing just fine. For transparency my system also has an Amd 5800xt cpu. With Intel completely losing themselves on cpu side I will still give amd a chance on cpus. For those not familiar, https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-c...900-series

Been on the fence for an upgrade from my 2070 super. Is this the best bang for buck or wait for 2026?

Wouldn't a 9070xt be a better overall choice?

Zotac is known to have more strict return policy than other brands. Some ppl's return/exchange were denied and others get to hear about it online. Given it's an 'open box', may want to take that into consideration.

Rumor has it that GPU prices are set to increase in 2026. I would recommend the 4070 ti super or the 9070xt. OR keep the 2070 super for another year.

Ah, yeah. At first I thought this was a non-issue, but the text is concerning in the article you link.
I was just looking to get a 9070 XT, new from MC, I'm not too interested in open-box. But that article gave me pause.
But apparently there is a clarification follow up, https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-c...ture-games
Does that seem to be a better position?

Being annoyed by AMD removing FSR/RDNA updates for the 6000 series is like being annoyed that Nvidia is removing FRG/DLSS updates for the 3000 series (which they are doing). Every 2-3 years technology changes and that old tech can't support the new patches adequately. The other poster acts like AMD just said "fark the 6800 XT" and now they can't run games at 1440p like they allegedly had been doing already. You will get many years of use out of your 9070 XT/4070 Ti Super/5070 Ti if you decide to go with one.

Bottom line (IMO): $500 range? Get the 9070. $600 range? This card or the 9070 XT. $700 range? If you have a Micro Center nearby, this is interesting because the 7900 XTX (24GB of VRAM is also enticing if you do any kind of local LLM, but not relevant to most people) is available for this price and bests the 5070 Ti in anything where RT isn't being utilized (except Black Myth: Wukong.. where it loses by like 3%) and trades blows with the much more expensive 5080. That being said, if you do any RT gaming at all, I would recommend the 5070 Ti over the 7900 XTX.
Don't buy a 5080 or a 5090 unless you need them for workload, only game in 4K, or you just have a ton of money to spend. Paying 60% more for a 5080 for 13~18% gains is silly.
