From Google AI result, it said to maintain full 40Gbps speeds and features over 3.3 feet, it must be an active cable with an integrated chipset; passive cables usually lose performance beyond 3.3 feet (1 meter).
So look for cable that said Active Thunderbolt 3/4 cable if you want 6ft one. Usually a lot more expensive.

$21 40gbps vs $20 20gbps. May as well go with the actual usb 4.0 cable.
The question is can passive cable longer than 3.3 feet be Thunderbolt 3/4 cable?

For years 3.3ft (1m) was the limit for certified passive 40Gbps cables, but in the last couple of years they've been slowly getting longer. There are now USB-IF certified passive 40Gbps cables in 1.2m and 1.5m length. Certified active 40Gbps cables still top out at 2m length, except for the Apple 3m Thunderbolt cable.
Non certified cables are a total crapshoot. There is lots of junk out there, but some that seem to work well for most people.

Can you recommend any ACTIVE ones over 6 feet? I do device based graphic design. Need a little slack. 6 really is the minimum. Not sure why everything is designed for 3 feet. 3 feet barely even reaches my monitor when pc is on the floor.
