well, when nvidia cuts their gpu production in half next year and memory prices go up even higher, in a few months this deal will feel like the deal of the century for those wanting a brand new budget RTX 50 series card..

I'm not a fan of 8gb cards now a days but at this price point it's starting to be tolerable. I'm sure there will be situations where this is held back by having 8gbs of ram and you'll have to turn down settings to keep playable framerates but it's more acceptable at this type of price point. As much as I hate the 8gb cards 50% more $ for a minor performance improvement and 16gb of ram on a 9060xt almost doesn't make sense. I like the 9060xt 16gb better as a card but that's a pretty big premium for what you get. I think I'd also get this over a 9060xt 8gb for $20-30 more. The 9060xt 8gb would be a bit faster but this benefits from DLSS being in more games. You'll have DLSS4 as an option more often and if you are stuck on an older version of DLSS it's better quality than FSR for which is helpful for this tier of card.

This is a great budget card. I still went with the Arc B580 even though the 5060 beats it in raw performance. The 12gb vram is nice and its been playing everything at 1440p very well. Its quite the upgrade from my ancient rx580. I'm really hoping Intel can manage to stay afloat in the GPU arena. I think we all will benefit from a third competitor.

Seems like an OK deal relative to msrp and not considering some recent weird low prices at Best Buy (a 5060ti was $250 for a minute or two). At this price and performance you may compare to the AMD offerings (the 5060/8gb isnt doing much AI work) and Intel GPUs (if you have the CPU to really take advantage of it).

The cutting production talk just fuels FOMO and it doesn't make logical sense for these lower tier cards. Is NVidia really going to be able to actually sell this 5060 (non Ti, 8g) for significantly more than this year's msrp prices in 2026? I have my doubts. I'd sooner believe this card goes extinct.

If you don't need this card today, you won't need it in a year even if the price is 2x or more. If you do need it today, then assess based on today's price and your needs.

I have been testing an 8GB card recently. First, for those who think it doesn't matter at all, it definitely does. At 1440p, it is pretty easy to run out of VRAM and cause performance to tank in modern AAA games.

That being said, it isn't the end of the world either. You can usually drop texture quality to a moderate level and have a perfectly playable experience in the vast majority of modern games. Some games will need more compromises than others. On older games, you should not have any issues as those games never expected to have more than 8GB of VRAM.

To me, it is all about price point. Buying a 5060 Ti 8GB at close to $400 is crazy to me. That is a horrible value. Buying an 8GB card in the $200-250 range seems reasonable to me.

If you have an older platform (PCIe 3.0 or older), you might want to consider the refurbished Zotac 3060 Ti ($197) or 3070 ($109). Those cards bracket the 5060 performance wise and have x16 PCIe lanes each. There's a non-trivial number of cases where the bandwidth does matter.

Well said. Most of us do well to remember not to Fomo purchase anything we don't need.

Sub par deal for a useless card nobody wants.
Remember when Jensen (CEO of Nvidia) said on stage that the new 5060 was faster than a 4080?
Sure, and a Prius is faster than a Jesko.🙄

I need a newer sub 200mm single fan card for my Segotep Slath case too. Using a Yeston Cute Pet 3060 single fan right now but I really want a 60-series if they ever make a SFF one, and if it isn't $3000 next year for an RTX 6060 SFF with they way prices are skyrocketing faster than AI slop is spreading.😑
