WD_BLACK 1TB SN7100 NVMe Gen 4 SSD $89 Walmart

https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/13573063573

Some important notes:

1) This is a Gen 4 drive (not a Gen 5 as described on the Walmart website)
2) This is only a 1TB drive (as opposed to a 2TB which I think most folks are looking for now)
3) I suspect this may be on closeout, so it may be a YMMV (it's still available for me so not sure if it's available for everyone
4) I've pulled the actual specs below from another website (B&H Photo)

Key Features
  • 1TB Storage Capacity
  • M.2 2280 Form Factor
  • NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4 Interface
  • Sequential Read Speeds up to 7250 MB/s
  • Sequential Write Speeds up to 6900 MB/s
  • Endurance (TBW): 600TB
  • PCIe 3.0 and 2.0 Backward Compatible
  • WD_BLACK Dashboard
  • Windows 10 and Later Compatible

Again this is a Gen 4 (not a Gen 5) but if that's what you're looking for, it seems to be a solid deal for a WD Black drive.

Would welcome comments as I'm considering purchasing this for a Gen 4 system.

this def a a YMMV and I would add it to the title. None are available for nation wide shipping, only if your local stores have them. Even then, their inventory sucks and they could actually not have it at all. I saw this couple of weeks ago and ordered, the order got delayed and cancelled because they obviously didn't have the item. Also went into a store that said they had it, but they didn't. moral of the story, a huge YMMV and don't bother ordering online, go in if to see if they have it in stock or not. Great drive at a great price!

Got two for $94 each . They cancelled one and said it was OOS. I placed a new order and it delivered from the same store that was OOS. If you want this just keep checking the page. They come in and out of stock often.

I believe this is an update of the dramless WD Black SN770. I picked up 2TB SN770 nvme drives from Walmart for $72 each in September.

This is not a good deal if you don't need it right now.

Does This have any know firmware issue? I would like to use this in a Satechi enclosure for my Mac Mini M4.
