Home Depot deal yesterday for the non fuel got me interested in an m12 oscillating saw (I have the m18 and it's sometimes a bit unwieldy). The non fuel doesn't have toolless change, which is a no go for me, but I figured I'd jump on the next fuel deal -- didn't expect to see it so soon!
Got this and the 2x battery deal, no tax shipped to CA, afaict. Never bought from this vendor before, will see how it goes...

That said, this one is still plenty strong. If you find you need power the there is probably a different tool that's better for the job. Personally I find the sander attachments for all oscillating tools to produce poor finishes so I use one of the other M12 sanders instead.

Great to hear that the m12 is easier to wield -- that's exactly what I'm looking for! With the m18 I've been mostly cutting drywall or trim, but it's definitely a two hand job to keep a nice line.
Good to hear that waysource is solid -- I usually like to buy from Home Depot just in case I need to return (since I can just swing by the store), but no tax w/ an official reseller that has shopify checkout is hard to argue with. Thanks again to OP for the heads up!

My personal take is when you're starting with a system, 2 batteries is generally better than just having one big one -- it means that you can swap batteries and keep going if one runs out, vs. having to stop and wait for a charge.
Also, ime many tools don't really "need" a big battery since they're not something that'll see sustained use. I've been getting away with 2.5 and under amp hours on all my m12 stuff, and so far only the wet/dry vac and the rover light feels like they would really benefit from larger batteries.
It's also worth pointing out that a big benefit of the m12 system is that the tools are generally lighter and easier to maneuver, with larger batteries you give up a little bit of this benefit.
