Since this thread will probably get a lot of views let this be my yearly reminder that when it comes to the desktop/download version, virtually no one needs anything other than Turbotax Deluxe.

TT strongly pushes Premier and Home & Business but the fact is that TT Deluxe can handle every situation that these more expensive versions can. The only exception that I am aware of is the ability to create W2 and 1099 forms for employees in H&B.

Deluxe has everything for all investment types, everything for owners of rental properties, everything for self-employed (1099-NEC/Schedule C filers), everything for those who do itemized deductions.

The higher versions offer more guidance but Deluxe has all the forms required and will still walk you through all of it.

Note that Turbotax Online is completely different, Deluxe Online is purposely limited forcing more complex returns to use the more expenisve Online versions than Deluxe.

Friendly reminder that this now requires Windows 11 and unfortunately will not work on Windows 10.

Or just do freetaxusa and get the same experience on the web for free. I think state is like $15 if you want to do that through them too

Will the deluxe version be able to import last year's tax file completed with the premier?
Yes, I've done this (switched back and forth from Deluxe to Premier and back to Deluxe when I got a free copy of Premier from Fidelity one year)

So I bought the Deluxe Federal+State on Amazon, and I downloaded the software and input the License key, and right after that it asked if I wanted to upgrade to TurboTax Premier Online for $0 - looks like it was a limited time offer right then and there.

If anyone is on the fence of Deluxe vs Premier...fyi.

Surprisingly, there is no coupon for Business version. Does Costco price matches on software if they happen to put it up on sale soon?
Both Costco and Amazon include $10 credit or gift card with TT Business if you use the correct link.

End up with this every year for past 5 years, waiting on the Amazon GC + Deluxe version.
remember: Federal filing is free but they charge for State. Odds are your state has set up their own free filing portal at this point, and it the state returns TurboTax generates can easily be used to input the data on your state's site. Just stare at the PDF from TT as you fill out your state's form.

Yes, I see that $10 in-product credit offer. But other versions have a coupon savings on top of that, like TT Home & Business has $20 off. This actually reduces the purchase price. I am referring to this coupon.

You realize that Premier Online is not equal to Premier Desktop right?

The online versions do not have the same features as their desktop equivalents. Lots of people have to use Premier online whereas Deluxe Desktop works fine for them.

Intuit is really pushing people towards their online offering - there are several reasons why desktop/download is better but I'm not going to clutter up a deal thread going off on a tangent about that.

For all that is holy, use the link in the first post of this thread - stop trying to find the product yourself on Amazon.

The Amazon's products linked in the first post contain the $10 GC

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GH2XRDQT is the correct link for the Deluxe version with state that includes the GC

You shouldn't use the word coupon - none of these have coupons.

Yes, the non-business editions have a lower price for this 24 hour sale at Amazon. The business edition does not, it is the same price as it was before the only difference is the $10 GC being offered.

Wanted to let everyone know that when I downloaded and installed the Deluxe version, an option popped up after activation that allowed me to upgrade to Premier Online for free. YMMV

Going from Deluxe desktop to Premier online is NOT an upgrade --- don't fall for it!

For the Amazon deal, if you have been hoarding digital no-rush credits, you can apply them to the purchase of TurboTax WITHOUT the giftcard attached. This may work out for people that live in a no-income tax state like FL or TN since the Federal Deluxe is $10 cheaper anyway and you don't need to pay for the state portion.

Apparently, I did a lot of no-rush during the holidays and have $51 in my credit bank to apply.

Got the same offer to upgrade from Deluxe Desktop to Premier Online for $0 after inputting the License Key to register. Declined as I prefer the Desktop version.

Attached screenshots of the offer, in case anyone is interested.

It's free for certain customers who have a Fidelity account. Obviously YMMV.
