Probably because of the part that says limit of 400oz which is 2 XLs. They know some people would be bringing giant buckets without limits

Bag of Kirkland microwave popcorn is $0.34/bag. That's ~14.7 bags of popcorn for $5. 1 bag produces 10-12 cups of cooked popcorn. Conservatively, that 147 cups of popcorn. Large tub equates to 17-20 cups. Gotta fill it roughly 8.6 times to equal same of costco popcorn.

Got mine today. My bucket says it's 4.25 gal. Limit is 400 oz (by volume) or ~3.1 gal. The girl did say she wouldn't be able to fill it all the way. She filled up their normal extra large bucket twice and dumped it in. It filled it up mostly (it settled during driving) and she was surprised, but I think she assumed it was 5 gal like the Lowe's bucket.
