With dedicated 4x4 5Ghz backhaul, if you can't do wired to each access point - this is the ideal setup.

also been rocking this for over 5 years. only thing I didnt like about Orbi is that they placed a distinction between router and satellites, whereas every other brand does not. I had to flash the firmware to make routers into satellites. upgrading to Deco BE11000 now...

I had those for years and it was solid but a 6 year old system that is both a refurbished and open box should cost a fair amount less.

I bought the 3 pack of deco 6E that has been faster and more stable for $150 after Amazon's 25% cashback with their CC. This should be $100 or less.

I didn't know you could flash the routers to become satellites. That woulda been some good info a long time ago and cheaper lol.

How would I be able to flash my router into making it a satellite?

This system works fine. We've had it for 7 plus years. Initially had 1 router plus 1 satellite. Added a 2nd one several years ago. It's certainly starting to bottleneck my speeds so may need to look into upgrading to a more modern mesh system.

Can you share a resource on flashing routers to become satellites?

i searched it on the Internet. only problem you might run into is getting the satellite firmware from orbi (netgear). maybe you can extract from an existing satellite if you cannot find it on the internet?
essentially, you will telnet into the router, set/modify a setting or two, then factory reset/flash the satellite firmware.
