I bought one a couple of years ago. Had it replaced twice under warranty when the motors burned out.
When I received the second replacement I immediately sold it and bought a Milwaukee Quick Loc. The Milwaukee is a beast. The DeWalt will always be problematic due to its head mounted motor. Live and learn.

Interesting. I've had mine since 2020, never had an issue.

Had one for 3 or 4 years now, no issues. Guard could be a lil beefier.

Mine lasted 3 or 4 years.. then the motor head got clogged up while trimming some thicker grass. The little motor made a pop sound and a puff of smoke and it was dead.

I have around 215sqft lawn. Is this still a good deal for me? I see this has motor issues but I'm wondering if they are related to heavy use

Same experience as others, the 20v model with head-mounted motor fails, it is only a matter of when. No such issue with the 60v model which has the motor mounted on the other side.

I've had this for several years and no motor issues (yet), but I don't like the folding mechanism because it is exactly where you want to put the handle. This means you can't balance the trimmer well. People talk about mounting the handle backwards which helps a bit, but it still isn't balanced right. And I have never once felt the need to fold the thing up. Useless feature.

Looks like a great price but so many people on slick deals have talked me out of this for issues with the motor. Want to get rid of my gas trimmer as its annoying having gas just for that at this point
