Duracell AAA and AA batteries here are mainly attractive as a free after rewards stock up, especially for buyers who can also use the purchase toward ink recycling or other Office Depot rewards redemptions. The deal can effectively turn a small out of pocket spend into store credit, and the rewards behave more like a gift card than a coupon. The big caution is leakage, with repeated reports of batteries leaking in unopened packs, in storage, and inside devices well before expiration. That makes them a better fit for low risk use or quick turnover than for anything valuable or long term.

  • The 100% Office Depot rewards offer can be stacked with ink recycling qualifying spend for additional rewards.

  • The rewards are described as acting like a gift card for redemption timing, which can help with planning purchases.

  • The deal can be redeemed for postage stamps, which is not available through Staples rewards per the comments.

  • Duracell warranty replacement support reportedly includes contacting Duracell with photos and receiving a coupon for future Duracell purchases.

  • Duracell AAA and AA batteries can leak and potentially damage electronics even when stored unopened.

  • Leakage can occur years before the labeled expiration date when batteries are stored at room temperature.

  • Battery leaks can damage items such as remote controls and toys, especially when batteries sit unused for long periods.

  • Duracell warranty replacement processes can require sending in unopened packs and waiting weeks for a check.

Interesting. After missing most of last year until Thanksgiving, is it back to regular this year? I hope so. It is also interesting that the deal last until 24th instead of one week.

What is a good deal item to buy at OD with the reward points earned?

At least when staples does a similar offer, it seems they carry more worthwhile items to burn the reward points on

This is a great deal for the rare person who still has any device left that hasn't been destroyed by a Duracell leaking battery.

I've had a ridiculous number of leaky Duracell batteries. I wouldn't put them in anything valuable.

Amazing how it's still prevalent. It's been years, and they still don't care enough to fix the issue? Or maybe not enough people complaining, or maybe it drains fast enough so people tend to not keep it in long. I still have an unopened pack with leak (way before expiration date) all over.

OD rewards have an expiration whereas Staples don't.

All ODs closed near me. The last time I purchased OD batteries (the last promotion) they already leaked. Glad they closed all the stores near by and curbed my urge to PM and buy batteries from them.

To be more precise: objectively, these batteries have a high probability to leak and potentially ruin your electronics. Notably, the leaks occur far before the "expiration" date if the batteries

Costco offers a 40-pack of either AAA or AA batteries from the same brand for $19.99.

This particular offer provides a 100% reward, and many individuals choose it because this purchase qualifies for ink recycling, which necessitates a minimum expenditure of $10. Otherwise, Costco's pricing is considerably more favorable.
