50 bucks on eufy with 15 dollar coupon. Does not do 24/7 recording and cannot be wired like the C31.

Tyvm, I wound up buying two direct from eufy. Figured new is worth it vs refurb for a couple bucks. Coupon worked for both in the same order.

It says no monthly fee all over, but specifically mentions local storage. Is there any free cloud storage? Just for events? Or if someone steals the doorbell, I lose everything?

Looking at the C31 because I'm hardwired power.

There's local remote storage with the homebase unit. I've had the wired/wireless HB2 version for a few years, but I want to upgrade to the dual cameras. I'm going to have to move to HB3 for that, though...

There's (free) online notifications and access to the homebase storage.

I'm sorry, but you think you could expand some more? The base would be required to stream footage for free remotely? The home base sits inside my house and all Eufy cameras stream their video directly to it? So I could not even have an SD card in the doorbell cam, but all the footage is saved inside my house? And I can access ANY of the footage via an app? Have you had any signal strength issues with the base? Says 650ft under optimal conditions, which usually means about 150ft in a house.

So, not all of their cameras, but most have the option of streaming to the HB3. A lot fewer support(ed) the HB2. Some, most, aside from the doorbells, also support microSD cards, and that can also be used to access stored footage remotely from the app. There might also be short clips available from their free cloud service for a limited time, but only event triggers, and I haven't used that in so long I don't remember the details.

But you can set the base to do a lot more. It is its own wifi network, and ours is only about ten meters (and three walls) from the doorbell. We've had zero issues with it, either in terms of interference with our mesh or in terms of bandwidth.

Just had today person picking up stuff near this door bell. And this thing didn't record anything, if you expect any meaningful detection, it's not about this camera (HM3 is linked BTW).
