I got this about a month ago at $220 to replace an old power hungry PC that was loud and hot for office use and some L4D2 gaming. It won't output 1440 via HDMI but it did with DP and L4D2 plays great. It is almost silent and works great.

Comes with 1x8GB stick of RAM, so it's an easy upgrade to 16GB if desired.

Got this a month back as well. Has some working SATA ports in it (need to buy power cable adapter for the feeds on the mobo.) Have it loaded with containers on Promox.

Has 1 x16 pcie 4.0 slot and 1 x1 pcie 3.0 slot. The latter suitable for one of those 2.5gbps rtl8125 nics. Hba can go into the x16 slot. That will take care of the sata ports, but what about power connectors.... And where to stick those drives.

This would probably make a fine htpc tv, even at 8gb ram. Put windows tiny on it, kodi, profit.

Cpu has hardare decoding for all major codecs.

Or even https://libreelec.tv/.

Otherwise very basic productivity box, disposable. Tempting!!

It seems it has 2 sata ports according to the Youtube video. I didn't see any power cables for sata drives though https://youtu.be/u8ztiGjocNY?si=FX7V5JHZQwqJ62Gr

There's an asus with a 12400 (6 cores with hyperthreading), 16gb of ram. About $100 more, but I think more worthwhile box.

That ASUS is an excellent deal for a small office environment, but is in a whole other price range at 50% more and has DDR4 RAM instead of DDR5. Would be a great post though if there were more than one available.

In this category, I don't think ddr4/5 really matters. Won't make a bit of difference in web browsing or office use. 16GB is far more usable than 8gb. With ram prices as they are, get as much as you can afford to. New set of 2 x 16gb ddr4 3200mhz runs for ~$200!

I generally dont like prebuilts, and buy with some level of future expandability, even if it costs more.

PS. My current laptop was upgraded from 16-32gb 2 years ago. In my normal "productivity" work load, I'm usually at just under 15GB used.
