I got this about a month ago at $220 to replace an old power hungry PC that was loud and hot for office use and some L4D2 gaming. It won't output 1440 via HDMI but it did with DP and L4D2 plays great. It is almost silent and works great.

Comes with 1x8GB stick of RAM, so it's an easy upgrade to 16GB if desired.

In this category, I don't think ddr4/5 really matters. Won't make a bit of difference in web browsing or office use. 16GB is far more usable than 8gb. With ram prices as they are, get as much as you can afford to. New set of 2 x 16gb ddr4 3200mhz runs for ~$200!

I generally dont like prebuilts, and buy with some level of future expandability, even if it costs more.

PS. My current laptop was upgraded from 16-32gb 2 years ago. In my normal "productivity" work load, I'm usually at just under 15GB used.
I'll counter that the speed advantages of DDR5 will show up in any multitasking application, and agree that more is always better. I like this deal for its very modern spec and upgradeability, allowing quite a few years of use and relevance for very little money. Down the road a CPU upgrade to a 14400 or 14700 may be a good choice for some users. Back in August I picked up 8GB of Samsung PC4-2400T DDR4 desktop RAM for $9 shipped on eBay and it works like new.

This is great for some people who just need a basic home/office PC to check emails and other. But if you're thinking you're going to make a budget productivity/gaming PC out of it then I would look elsewhere.

Based on a recent experience from vipoutlet, new damaged box item was clearly used, ironically box looked very good.

They did do a return but was a hassle.. I like this deal, but I also expect items to arrive as advertised.

Intel N100 and similar minis have been very popular lately in the $130 range. By comparison, this box offers about 3 times the performance and by my estimation will be much more reliable and upgrade friendly. It's no gamer or video editor as configured, but is a good fit for a lot of average users.

does it have memory slots available for me to upgrade the RAM to 16gb?

Ive never seen a desktop board with less than 2 slots of ram. That said they might have put 2x 4GB sticks. If it's 1x 8GB then another stick should do fine. With the market today they might have just pulled out a stick on all their systems to sell separately.

"VIPOutlet has mixed reviews regarding its legitimacy:
Positive Aspects: Some sources indicate that VIPOutlet appears to be a legitimate and trustworthy online seller, supported by evidence of business registration and secure practices.

Negative Aspects: However, it is not BBB accredited, and many customer reviews express dissatisfaction, with a rating of only 2.9 stars from 28 reviews. Customers have reported receiving defective or used items misrepresented as new.

Trust Score: Scam Detector gives VIPOutlet a medium trust score, indicating potential high-risk activity.

In summary, while there are indications of legitimacy, customer experiences suggest caution when purchasing from VIPOutlet."
I came to the thread to post that a year ago I purchased an i3-12100 version of this slim HP PC and it's been working great as a general light browsing/usage PC for my elderly parents. But your post led me to check who was the seller, and it was indeed vipoutlet store on eBay.

Two months ago I also purchased two solar charge controllers at a great price from vipoutlet on eBay, I was apprehensive about the seller given the great price, but they arrived just fine. I thought that was my first experience with vipoutlet, but apparently not. And it turns out in 2022 I also purchased an Instant Pot from them, so apparently I've been a repeat customer of them on eBay for a few years now.

Maybe I'm just lucky, but everything has been in new-looking condition and worked fine. But admittedly their main web store (which I've never purchased from directly) does look somewhat questionable and doesn't inspire confidence....

Customer experiences also caution when it comes to trusting AI.

It gets things wrong all the time. I've caught AI trying to pass falsehoods off as fact too many times to trust it. These days I'll only use AI that provides citations and then I'll go to the source site to see what the real story is.

Can you add a gpu to this like a b570?
The b570 looks like it has external power requirements. It's rare for these SFF desktops to have an external power connector. For now, the best card for this would be a 3050 6gb or the new AMD 6400 replacement that's not quite available yet.
