Tiny case, much cheaper at Harbor Freight if you don't need something as "fancy".

nanuk is made in canada and guaranteed for life. apache is made in china and has a 90 day warranty. if you're storing something valuable you might want to buy the more premium brand

Hence why I said "if you don't need something as fancy".

Go ahead, pay an unfriendly neighbor the extra tariffs for something that you'll spend gobs of money on to get fixed when it fails -- shipping it to Canada and back isn't going to be cheap. If it's so good, you won't need to use the warranty anyways! So which is it?

In business, there's a phrase called TCO -- Total Cost of Ownership. When you can buy 2-3x of the cheaper option, they last JUST as long (if not longer!) if you're not using them in abusive situations, and it's quicker/easier to replace them (trip to a local HFT store versus a one-off "sale" on scAmazon mail order)...there's a choice here that's a lower TCO.

1. it's sold through amazon, you don't get charged tariffs
2. nanuk covers shipping costs for repair unless it's user error

but yeah keep responding to any post about a premium brand with your great insight that a cheaper product exists, it's very helpful

You're paying tariffs regardless of where you buy it. They're baked into the final cost. Sorry, but it's not "the other country" that pays them! 🤣

I have both the $50 Made in USA Lifetime warranty Pelican 1150 and the $10 Made in China 90 day warranty Apache. The differences are enough that I consider them both to be priced accordingly. I haven't tried the Nanuk, but it seems much closer to the Pelican than the Apache.

yep pelican and nanuk are similar quality if not the same, I prefer nanuk's design but to each their own

It's not Canada that's being unfriendly.

Have you seen their stores? They're refusing to carry our products. They boo our national anthem. We don't do the same to them. No US store is boycotting Canadian products. We show them respect at our sporting events.
