The Moto G Power 5G 2024 stands out as a budget unlocked phone with useful extras like wireless charging, an SD card slot, a headphone jack, NFC, eSIM support, and a fast side fingerprint reader. It feels plenty fast for casual use, and after updates it can deliver good battery life. The 8GB RAM and 2024 CPU are also viewed as stronger than the 2025 and 2026 versions. Main drawbacks are occasional lag, battery drain, and reports of random screen or flashlight activation during calls, plus limited case availability for the 2024 model. A solid everyday option if you want the feature set more than premium polish.

The Moto Stylus line is absolutely fantastic. I agree with you.
And the Straight Talk version is free with a $45 Silver plan. Two months of paid service and it unlocks.

2026 models must be coming in soon!
The 2026 version is almost the same as the 2025, except they took out wireless charging but put in a slightly bigger battery.

The 2024 has a better CPU than both of them. moto is going backwards with the g Power.

But, the 2025 version does support wireless Smart Connect, and the 2024 does not. I have 2 of these 2024 models, but I got them on TracFone with Fitbit watches for $80 each after tax. I wouldn't spend $130+tax on them. There are better options at that price - Like the previously mentioned Moto G Stylus 2025 from Straight Talk, which also supports wireless Smart Connect.

Don't know if this is going to help slickdeal users that much Stick Out Tongue but .. bought this as a phone for my mother in law who although she's the sweetest person you're every going to meet is not exactly what you'd describe as someone who is glued to her cell phone or someone who spends a lot of time on the internet.. so for a "very casual cell phone user" (for lack of a better phrase Stick Out Tongue ) the cell phone is working out great for her two years later Smilie ... or to put it another way someone who really just uses the cell phone for calling people and/or casual reading on the internet to pass the time as opposed to say gaming on the phone or putting "important" stuff on there like say the websites/apps of the financial institutions you do business with (and honestly my mother in law would be far more likely to do that sort of business on her computer anyways).

Bought it for $200 two years ago so it's nice to see the price drop... word of warning though, after the last phone case fell apart (mom in law lives in a tropical environment which apparently encourages dry rot) I discovered options were limited far as finding a phone case for this given it's a 2024 model... didn't have any problems with a supershieldz screen protector being readily available from amazon however.
The "FNTCASE" case is nice ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CT5G3D6W )

Does it work with wireless charging? Also how much does the screen reduce touch sensitivity?

Was looking at this Fntcase: Not listed in the description but picture and reviews indicate one is included. That's the only reason that I held off originally. Was going to order a different case with 2 protectors but it went OOS. I like clear, plain, light cases for my phone.

I'm sorry, I have never used wireless charging and the very first thing I do with a new phone, before even turning it on, is to put down a screen protector. I used a SuperShield glass protector before even opening the FNTCASE package and realizing that it included a screen protector. Touch sensitivity seems OK so far.

If you buy direct from Motorola, you can trade in a phone for an additional $25. discount off the $129. price and you won't get the Straighttalk, Tracfone, etc. flash at startup.

I bought 2 of these. The 2024 is faster than the 2025 and 2026 model.

Make sure to run all the updates first. Upgrades to Android15 and some other little things. After that they are plenty fast for most users and good battery life.

Can you return the unopened SIMs afterwards and keep the discount on the phones?
Why so cheap & trying to cheat Best Buy. Would You like them to go out of business like Circuit City & so many others. Comments on here are always doing this to Home Depot when their offering some free add on or a special price, then bring back part of the purchase for a refund. Not right. Hopefully these stores put a stop to that crap.

Here's the original SD post, including thoughts on that:

That one is only a 64GB.

I really do not love this phone. Sure it has the typical things I still want in a phone: wireless charging, SD card, headphone jack, NFC, esim and physical sims, side thumb reader that is quick. It's totally usable. But the phone gets bugs and slow sometimes switching apps and unlocking screens. My biggest gripe is when talking on the phone my face will start turning on flashlights, changing the pull down settings, and I hear all the system noises going crazy as if I'm tapping them. I'll check the phone when this is happening and the proximity sensor is working fine as the screen is still black. I've watched it do it while sitting on the car's wireless charger. I've factory reset the phone and it still does it. My wife has the same phone and had reported similar issues.

I recently switched to the moto stylus 2025 on the straight talk deal and in the last 45 days, the phone is much snappier, has all the same features, and no random button pressing. Plus it is cheaper than this deal.

Do any of you with the Stylus model NOT use the stylus? LOL Those phones always seem so large to me and I don't need the stylus, so I think it would be in the way. Or not? Input please!
