Seems like a good price, but these aren't the "barefoot" sort of shoes that altra is known for, with a 4mm drop and a rocker design. This seems to be a model aimed to compete with the Hokas, Brooks, and Sauconys of the world, just with a wider toe box than those brands offer.

You're right. Most of the Altras are zero drop. These are their max-cushion offering and has a 4mm heel to toe drop. They retain the "original foot shape" toe box which as very wide and the whole reason I prefer Altra.

I use these to let my arches recover from the fatigue that accumulates from runs in more minimal shoes.
