Good price for the performance but just a heads up that these are made of QLC nand, not TLC.
TLC (Triple-Level Cell) stores 3 bits/cell, offering better endurance and faster sustained writes, making it great for performance/mixed workloads; QLC (Quad-Level Cell) stores 4 bits/cell, providing higher capacity at lower cost, ideal for read-heavy tasks, but with slower performance and lower endurance due to more voltage states (16 vs. 8). TLC is better for operating systems and intensive tasks, while QLC excels at mass storage, archiving, and budget-friendly drives.

People don't hate Ai enough. Home energy costs raising is also due to Ai data centers.

It's so sad. RAM prices x4 and SSD's x2 in just a few weeks. I'm starting to hate AI and all their stupid data centers.

With crucial out of the consumer game at the moment, what does that mean with warranty if one of their products kicks the bucket?

It is a big company, I am certain they will keep staff for it until all warranties expire or they return to the consumer market.

Reading is fundamental: "Micron will continue Crucial consumer product shipments through the consumer channel until the end of fiscal Q2 (February 2026). The company will work closely with partners and customers through this transition and will provide continued warranty service and support for Crucial products."

I just picked up a Samsung 990 Pro with heatsink for $109 from Walmart over the weekend. I think that is a better deal at the moment, but still wasn't a "deal" at all.

Wow. So I guess a hundred dollars is the new normal for a 1TB SSD.

Sadly, it's the new normal. Once Crucial complete their exit from the market, I expect that new normal price to go up some. Crucial is pretty well known for their affordable SSD for a name brand.

TLC has come a long way, back a decade ago, people would steer clear of TLC drives for OS use.

It pains me to know that I was able to buy myself a 2TB Crucial P5 Plus NVMe Gen 4 SSD in 2023 for $96 all in, tax included only to see that this Crucial P310 costs $107 bare minimum. Damn, this current market is brutal.
