If that's the only issue, the people are also saying you can wipe them down and they are fine.

It helps to let people know what they're getting in the set... in case they can't see the graphics.

Worthwhile to read through the 1-star reviews on these. Many people reporting the same issues, grease and foul odor chief among them.

Just wipe off with mild cleaner, let air out for a few days, then good to go.

Think I am going to hold out for the 150lbs set for $110 if that comes around again. Just got a set of 35s and 70s from the other walmart deal.

Thanks for posting! I got 1 set.

There's another option with an A-Shaped Rack for 20 dollars more, I think it's a good option too, I regret getting the dumbbells without a rack

Just a note on the A-frame -- as you can see from the photo, it's small and cannot accommodate higher weights. I agree a rack is necessary, but the horizontal racks are much better if you want more and heavier weights. I bought the CAP A-frame that was on sale for awhile (still is at Target for $26), but the holders are very small and difficult to use with anything heavier than about 15lb -- I kept almost crushing my fingers when replacing the weights. Bought a horizontal one that was listed here for $30, and it's much better for me, at the expense of floor space. My fingers are happier, too.

The odor is the same as ALL rubberized dumbbells. Wipe 'em down and air them outside for a couple of days.

Those complainers also don't read the instructions [manuals.plus].

Odor: New rubber products may have a distinct odor. This is normal and typically dissipates over time with airing out. Cleaning with rubbing alcohol or a mild detergent can help reduce the initial smell.
