These are typically pretty oily and very pungent. You can try cleaning them, but the smell will last quite awhile. Keep the in your garage or other space that it won't bother you while you try and air it out.

Never heard that one before. To me it smelled like if you walk into a Costco tire center. But it faded after a week or two.

Same. I wiped the oil off with wet rags, and within a few days the smell was gone. It might be batch specific or perhaps some noses are hyper sensitive to the rubber smell.
