Our devices are programmed to automatically unlock 60 days after activation. Once that period has passed, the 'SIM Restricted' message will disappear, allowing you to add any international eSIM of your choice.
I'm sorry, what was that you said?

If they don't unlock automatically google "straight talk unlock policy." There's an unlock request form right on that page. If it qualifies they'll unlock it.
That rarely works anymore, it's an old website from before they started automatically unlocking Android phones.
If phone doesn't auto unlock try a reboot or a different provider sim. If it's past 62 days then call the unlock dept & have them take care of it.

What about that $10 plan some people have talked about, can you use that for month 2?

Just make sure the phone is connected to WiFi when you insert the new SIM and the phone should unlock fine.

The fact that Straight Talk and Walmart are already discounting the 16e to $299, essentially the same price as the 14 right now, tells me the rumors of a 17e are true. Straight Talk typically carries iPhones in a couple colors, and only when it's old or discontinued by apple does Straight Talk only keep black in stock. The 16e in white went out of stock a long time ago. Even the 15 is more expensive than the 16e right now.

I know that exists on Total. I haven't seen for sure whether Straight Talk has a similar $10 option.

I am on US Mobile WARP (Verizon). I bought a used iPhone 14 on Ebay advertised as sim-locked to Tracfone/Straight Talk with hopes of unlocking it. I checked with IMEI-check and the phone was about a week old (activated 27 Dec 2025), had 55 days left to get Apple Care, and warranty until 26 Dec 2026, clean ESN (no blacklist), iCloud off. I was worried, it may have unpaid commitment.
I called Straight Talk and asked them when I can unlock it. They said this phone was activated on a Walmart Family Mobile plan (I never heard of that plan before). And they said that it can also be activated on TracFone or Straight Talk. I said, I would like to unlock it (the phone was still being shipped). The customer service rep said, let me active it first and then unlock it. After a few minutes she came back and said that she can activate it, but cannot unlock until 365 days from the original activation date (which was like 355 days). I said, isn't TracFone/Straight Talk on Verizon's 60 days unlock policy? She said this phone has a 365 days requirement and may be better if I use the Walmart Family Mobile plan.
How can a brand new phone iPhone 14 end up being sold for $200 a week after being purchased and not having any unpaid balance on it? I should try and wait 60 days and see if it becomes unlockable? (Do not know what plan, if any, is on it). The phone was not erased (at least in the photos). Seller with over 1600 of feedback at 99.6% says that he only resells these phones, no idea about their background. Should I try to pay $5-$25 one of those online remote unlockers? (15%-60% claimed success rate) Any chance it may work on US Mobile's Verizon value-line (WARP)?

I'm happy with mine from Metro. 2 for $300 and I'll let them unlock in 12 months after sitting in a drawer.
Have you got 2 lines together or checkout first one with port in then ordered 2nd to the existing line?

I bought 2 Moto G and activated in March 25 when 30 days service was sufficient to unlock but the policy changed before 30 days. I sent them overseas already and it did not unlock automatically. Yesterday I activated both again expecting to unlock after 30 days - total 60 days. One of them got Unlocked automatically same day but not the other one. This comment helped me realize that one that got Unlocked was connected to Internet through HotSpot. Today the other one also got Unlocked after connecting to Internet. Thanks!

Thank you for all the help and advice and tips! Used IMEI 2 to activate since IMEI was in limbo status due to incorrect Point of Sale registration scan. Went with TracFone for $10/month for 2 months and then it will unlock after 60 days. Then will move to US Mobile. Not bad for a 20 days old iPhone 14 phone for $230 total.
