I bought one from a different seller that looks identical and it has been working fine for the past month. Seems to connect faster than the older model I had which it replaced.

For $5 this is super cheap, but please understand that the ones that cost $20 are so small you can plug them into your USB port and not even see them unless you go looking. No cable, just a small thing the size of a quarter with a USB sticking out of it.

I have something like this for my silverado. It works great minus the fact that the steering wheel controls for skipping a song don't work. Volume buttons are fine though so who knows.

These things are great. Carplay connects almost immediately, AND the best part, is you can use the keyboard to search while driving on google maps or apple maps... doesn't wait for you to stop (of course only do this if you are the passenger, not the driver... wink wink). Also my car when plugged in for apple car play, usually overheats my phone, so I now connect wirelessly and charge my phone with a charger from the cigarrette lighter and charges faster and cooler.

I have one and it works well. Only minor gripe is that when skipping songs on Spotify, there's a slight delay versus when the phone is wired. Other than that, been solid.

My wife has it in her Toyota and was rock solid (Apple) until I connected a 2nd phone to it.
Had to reset. Since then it has been solid again. I guess it doesn't like having two profiles.
The one we have is a year old. Zero problems other than what I stated.
I picked up a 2nd one today and will use that exclusively for my phone when I drive her car.

That may not mean anything. I imagine some people buy this thinking it will grant their CarPlay-less car the ability to use CarPlay. Or some muppet didn't read his vehicle owner's manual and tried plugging it into a charge-only USB port.

I've not reliably had one of these for less than a 20. Have fun reconnecting over and over trying to get it to connect till you just go back to wired CarPlay. Get a carlinkit

These things tend to be built on Android boxes that run Apple Carplay. The more expensive ones tend to have less lag and can do more, e.g. split screen, Netflix, Youtube, Android Auto compatibility, etc (nice to have, but gimmicks you may actually seldom use). I have purchased more expensive devices that do all that, yet I have noticed that if I have a zoom call while driving and if I use the map feature, my voice input in a zoom call gets extremely bogged down.
If you just need basic wireless carplay, this should get the job done.
