100% over the "coefficient of performance." The coefficient's 100% compared to a "conventional electric resistance heater's" max efficiency....which is grossly inefficient in terms of heating performance. That is like measuring "efficiency" in MPG against a horse, then claiming the car is a million times more eFfIcIeNt than the equus caballus.
400% more efficient than the best electric heater is very different verses being "more than 100% efficient." Which would violate the laws of physics....as you'd be getting more energy than you put in.

But that tip is good to know. I don't like that it takes 15-30m to start getting a room feeling warm.

If there is an EMERGENCY and you need heat without power this is NOT your answer, get a kerosene heater or propane one running a generator or even worse a battery pack is silly for heating like this.
The nice thing about these units though is they are virtually silent, great for when watching tv not to drown out the noise etc.
That story makes a very misleading claim and even reading the article it is still pretty wrong how they tried to walk back their clickbaity claim.

Not idiot proof =/= not safe. By the way it will turn itself off if you nudge it a little so it will turn off if you throw a blanket on it.
