I have one and no problem, but for $150 I would suggest getting a Sunster or Hcalory with a coupon code because it's much quieter out of box, and Sunster might even be Wifi if you using it to supplement home heating.

Marginal danger factor am as long as you vent the exhaust outside. Many of them come with pretty long pipes so that you can do just that.
