If they have a current electric water heater, it is (most likely) not located under a sink or in the bathroom. This is not meant to be a whole-house water heater, it is a designed to be a single point-of-use device.

Agreed, this is definitely a niche market. For example I was thinking about getting one for my workshop, it would be trivial to run a 220v/30a circuit to it there. But in your normal bathroom? Hard pass.
