it's not Thunderbolt based so basically all these devices share a single USB 3.x channel, so be careful about multiple devices that need power (ex: you probably can't plug in multiple external HDs or use this for charging devices). I wouldn't plug any webcams into it, it's just a USB hub.

Decent deal. Look unbalanced as I don't see locking mechanisms or stabilizer so i can't speak on that.

Edit: per reviewer (paid maybe), "The balance of the Mac mini on top is a bit awkward, so I returned it."

Sounds odd. Wish this user gave more context.

if on prime, it's free returns first 30 days, no gamble.

I would assume the whole thing will be top heavy with the Mac mini on top, plug in/out action could topple the stack.

I personally use OWC 1M2 enclosure for external drive. I put HP Thunderbolt 4 G6 dock on top of the mac mini ( so that it doesn't block Wifi). The G6 goes pretty well with mac mini for its shape, size and color.
I have a good old magic mouse 1 that I've kept at the bottom of my drawer since 2012. I took it out 13 years later to use it as the power button to wake up the mac mini from sleeping. Gestures still work on Sequoia. Scrolling in particular is still pleasantly smooth.

It has passed through though right? I mean I have all sorts of non thunderbolt cheap USB-C hubs and I use them to charge my stuff. It just requires pass-through. That's not all that hard these days You can get like a 65 w charger for 10 bucks. That said, if that's all you need you don't need to spend $55 bucks probably. Unless the particular design is important.

I had one similar to this that is not useable as a base because it hindered wifi. My fix was to set it to the side of the macmini. If ou have the desk space no worries, but otherwise you might as well go with an external dongle style.

Yeah it includes a power adapter for the fan and probably works for the ports too.

Main issue with this thing is that it's only 10gbps; if you're only going to use it for peripherals its fine, but if you throw an SSD in there, your bandwidths gone, so it's really either or.
