Here's a clever little hack if you want to really stock up on printer paper dirt cheap after rewards.

1) ACTIVATE THE 50% back in rewards up to $350 back in rewards on printer/paper in same purchase.

2) add one $39 HP Printer to cart. https://www.staples.com/hp-deskje...t_24656562

3) add up to THREE cases of HAMMERMILL 10 ream case for $39 each. https://www.staples.com/hammermil...uct_122374

Approx $156 for all 4 items, get $78 back in rewards. Can easily sell the printer for $20 or more to recoup what you paid less rewards or even $40 since it's 1/2 price sale to begin with.

Even if you don't flip the printer, you're paying $78 net for everything which makes the paper $26 per case!!

DEAL ENDS TODAY 1/7 on the paper. DO NOT PAY WITH STAPLES REWARDS! Gift Cards are okay to use.

A for creativity.
D for "value" considering hoops(unless really want/need the printer).

Good post, what is the downside to using existing staples rewards. I have quite a few from a previous printer purchase.

Sorry, but you're wrong. Even if you donate the printer and get nothing for it. the math is like this:

Printer and 3 cases of paper $158 + tax

Get $79 in rewards (you can buy case paper again with the rewards when it's on sale for $38)

Net is $79 after rewards, even if you only count the paper against what you've paid and earned, that's $26 a case or $2.60 a ream. which is 30+% off the $39 price you paid.

You get an A for replying and a D for not thinking outside the box.

Downside is, you won't earn any new rewards. Must pay OOP for earning rewards, they don't roll.

Any other creative ways to liquidate Staples rewards? I've accumulated quite a bit of Staples points from the previous luggage and other 100% back deals over the past year. I also don't need that many cases of paper. Stuff sold at Staples tend to be overpriced, but they do price match. I still find Staples rewards hard to liquidate, though. What are y'all buying there?

I often get household items (toilet paper, paper towels, coffee/KCUPS, cleaning items, bottled water, etc). Some office supply items and there's lots on staples.com not carried in the store.

If you want to avoid shipping charges, have the item ordered by an associate in store online that's not in stock in the store, They'll ship it to your house for free if under $35.

Also, this time of year, look for holiday clearance items at your store. gift sets, candy, etc.

Since they don't expire, can always save them up for a larger purchase like a new desktop or laptop, tablet, etc.

What MrCheap said.

Usually can "find" a coupon to sweeten the deal.

If you really NEED the cash.
Just offer to buy someone a High Ticket item (and throw in a warranty or at a 10-15% discount).
Or just buy something and sell it.

People are stoopid and lazy.
If you want to sell it online then:
You can find something like THIS [ebay.com]

Or Toner and Ink (NEWly released Printers generally don't have 3rd party toners available for short while).

Lots of Businesses require only BRANDED Toner/Ink( as mentioned PRICE MATCH).

Depending where you are and the store(s) you have access to should be easy to find things... Good Luck

PS...I still have 1400 square foot warehouse FULL of items from the good ole days...
